Main Purpose of Job

This position conducts reemployment workshops for profiled claimants and other qualified job seekers to enhance job seeking skills and to lessen the duration of unemployment. Work with Spanish speaking participants in the Reemployment Opportunity Workshop (ROW) program and Reemployment Services and Eligibility Assessment (RESEA) to insure that information is transmitted in a language with which they are familiar.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: Two years of experience in the field of workforce development, taking job orders, conducting job-ready interviews, registering job applicants, verifying job referrals, conducting vocational placements, performing unemployment adjudications, or appraising job applicants for employability.

Note:

1. Education at an accredited college or university may be substituted for one year of the required experience at a rate of thirty credit hours for each year of experience.

2. Active duty military recruiting experience or career counseling experience may be substituted on a year-by-year bases for the required education.

BARGAINING UNIT STATUS

The incumbent in this position is a member of a covered bargaining unit and will be required to pay a bi-weekly service fee to the exclusive representative of the bargaining unit.

Military Veterans may qualify for additional bonus points towards certification. A copy of your proof of eligibility (DD 214) for Veterans’ Credit must be in this office and completely verified before Veterans’ Credit will be approved.  Permanent State employees do not need to submit proof of eligibility for Veterans’ Credit.
