Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position is to perform nursing services at the intermediate level to children in Infants & Toddlers Program. This position will:  Provide medical, social, and educational service coordination for children aged birth to 5 years, who are medically fragile, with developmental delay or risk of developmental delay;  Provide referrals and coordination for Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Speech Therapy, Special Instruction, Vision Screening, and any other special services that are needed by children; Participate in evaluations and access to services; Monitor status and progress of children with monthly home visits and /or telephone calls; and, Provide detailed service documentation.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Determined by the Maryland State Board of Nursing under the licensing requirements for Registered Nurse.

Experience: None.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

1. Candidates for positions in this classification must possess a current license as a Registered Nurse from the Maryland State Board of Nursing, 4140 Patterson Avenue, Baltimore, Maryland 21215. **A copy of your current license must be attached to your current application.**

2. Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Employees in this classification will be required to provide the facility with a telephone number at which they can be reached.

BARGAINING UNIT STATUS

The incumbent in this position is a member of a covered bargaining unit and will be required to pay a bi-weekly service fee to the exclusive representative of the bargaining unit.
