THIS IS A POSITION-SPECIFIC RECRUITMENT FOR THE FREDERICK COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL SERVICES. The Frederick County Department of Social Services is located in Western Maryland, approximately 50 miles from the Baltimore and Washington areas.

Main Purpose of Job
The main purpose of this position is to supervise, coordinate, monitor and evaluate the daily tasks performed by Support Enforcement Specialists to ensure that policies and procedures are followed according to laws, rules and regulations established by the State of Maryland.
This position is also responsible for ensuring that staff provide positive customer service.
Monitors and tracks performance of Support Enforcement Specialists.
Ensures accuracy of case information, proper establishment and/or enforcement of cases.
Ensures that actions are completed in the specified time frames in accordance with Federal, State and local policy and procedures.
Updates, reviews and monitors local child support tracking logs for timeframe and program compliance.
Completes Monthly CSEA/DASHBOARD supervisor monthly delinquency reports.

EDUCATION: An Associate of Arts degree in social services, human services, legal studies, public administration or similar fields of study from an accredited college or university.
EXPERIENCE: Three years of experience investigating and analyzing child support cases and initiating appropriate actions to establish, maintain and enforce support payments for dependent children in accordance with Federal and State laws, rules and regulations. (PLEASE NOTE: Applicant experience must be in all aspects of this Child Support Specialist-level experience in order to qualify; partial job duties done in support of a Child Support Specialist or equivalent position do not qualify.)
1. A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university may be substituted for the required education.
2. A Bachelor’s degree in social services, human services, legal studies, public administration or similar fields of study from an accredited college or university may be substituted for the required education and one year of the required experience. (Please clearly indicate the formal title of your college degree major on your application.)
3. Experience investigating and analyzing child support cases and initiating appropriate actions to establish, maintain or enforce support payments for dependent children in accordance with Federal and State laws, rules and regulations may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis. (Applicant experience must be in all aspects of this Child Support Specialist-level experience in order to qualify; partial job duties done in support of a Child Support Specialist or equivalent position do not qualify.)
4. Experience determining eligibility for government assistance programs may be substituted for one year of the specific program experience. (Please expand on any duties where you made the formal determination of eligibilty for governmental assistance programs.)
