Main Purpose of Job
POSITION DUTIES
This position serves to coordinate and collaborate with organizations, associations and academia as a representative of the manufacturing industry. This position will facilitate creation and growth of partnerships with organizations and associations focused on manufacturing in Maryland. Through the relationships established with these entities, as well as internal collaboration with departmental subject matter experts and regional representatives, Commerce will determine common obstacles and opportunities for continued sector expansion.
The selected employee will possess excellent interpersonal skills to work with high level public and private sector officials and maintain effective working relationships; excellent written and oral communication skills; the ability to handle multiple, concurrent and high priority projects and possess proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite for Windows including Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint, Google Mail and/or other relevant software. Some statewide travel is required, as is, attendance at out of State conferences.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Real Estate/Land Use, or a related industry field AND at least six (6) years of experience in industrial, business or economic development; marketing; planning; finance; commercial real estate; manufacturing; or related field.
Equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable.
