Main Purpose of Job

The Maryland Health Services Cost Review Commission seeks a Workgroup Coordinator to assist the Executive Director and Senior Management in the stakeholder engagement process.  The position will coordinate activities for five HSCRC stakeholder workgroups and provide administrative support to Senior Management.  The HSCRC is responsible for developing, refining, and implementing Commission policy geared toward achieving its mandate of providing maximum efficiency and effectiveness at Maryland hospitals and achieving the goals of the Maryland All-Payer model approved by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).  Workgroups are critical stakeholder engagement activities that assist in the policy development and implementation process for the Commission. 

 

This position will primarily be responsible for:

 

·        Scheduling, organizing and managing HSCRC workgroup meetings, including assisting with PowerPoint presentations and webinars. 

·        Developing timelines for workgroup activities, including maintaining work plans, coordinating internal planning meetings, and updating stakeholder and interested party contact lists.

·        Ensuring staff assignments are completed on time for workgroup meetings.

·        Managing correspondence with workgroup members and their staff.

·        Interacting with DHMH leadership and HSCRC commissioners.

·        Communicating with hospital leadership, including CEOs and CFOs, regularly, to update them on stakeholder engagement activities.

·        Preparing and distributing electronic and printed materials for all workgroup meetings.

·        Setting up and managing audio visual equipment and webinar software during all workgroup and Commission meetings.

·        Assisting Senior Management with scheduling requests, arranging in person meetings, and scheduling conference calls.

·        Preparing materials for both internal meetings and meetings with outside parties.

·        Assisting Budget Chief and other administrative staff during peak work hours and backup as well as perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Qualified candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and four years professional experience.  Candidates must have a minimum of two years of experience in workgroup management and  extensive experience with scheduling for large groups and senior leadership with active calendars.

Candidates may substitute additional experience in administrative or professional work on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL DEMONSTRATE:

  • Experience working on HSCRC’s ongoing work to transform the healthcare system in Maryland.
  • Experience using GoTo Webinar Software, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint, Basecamp, and audio visual equipment.
