Main Purpose of Job
The mission of the Maryland Board of Physicians is to assure quality health care in Maryland through the efficient licensure and effective discipline of health providers under its jurisdiction, by protecting and educating clients/customers and stakeholders, and enforcing the Maryland Medical Practice Act. In this position the Compliance Analyst Associate directly supports this mission by assisting the investigation of cases and other compliance issues and questions of various stages and levels of investigation. This position primarily includes, but is not limited to assisting the Criminal History Records Check (CHRC)Unit in monitoring and investigating the results of criminal history background checks of applicants and licensees.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited College or university.

Notes:
1. Experience conducting investigations in the area of health care, insurance, medical malpractice or other related investigative experience as defined by the Maryland Board of Physicians may be substituted on a year for year basis for the required education.
2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Legal or Investigator classification or Legal or Investigator specialty codes in the Investigation field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate should have paralegal experience or a certificate in paralegal studies.

BARGAINING UNIT STATUS
The incumbent in this position is a member of a covered bargaining unit and will be required to pay a bi-weekly service fee to the exclusive representative of the bargaining unit.
