Main Purpose of Job
The main purpose of this position is to organize and oversee the production of MCE product(s) in the Metal Plant.
POSITION DUTIES
This is a Special Appointment Position and serves at the pleasure of the appointing authority
A Maryland Correctional Enterprises (MCE) Plant Supervisor has overall responsibility for the Metal shop operations.
Plans and schedules production operations in coordination with Pertinent Departments.
Coordinates the delivery of finished products to customers.
Prepares costing sheets for items produced.
Evaluates current materials being used for economic and production efficiency
Prepares cutting bills for maximum yield of raw material
Inspects plant facilities to determine efficiency of operations and inmate training
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: Five years of experience involving the training or supervision of lower-level workers in the option or related field for which application is made.

1. Specific educational requirements and other selection standards are set by the Maryland Correctional Training Commission in accordance with Correctional Services Article, Section 8-209 of the Annotated Code and are listed in the Code of Maryland Regulations Title 12, Subtitle 10, Chapter 01.
2. Employees in this classification are subject to substance abuse testing in accordance with Code of Maryland Regulations 17.04.09, Testing for Illegal Use of Drugs.

Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
