LOCATION OF POSITION

DHMH Spring Grove Hospital Center, Catonsville, MD  21228

Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position is to supervise staff engaged in housekeeping activities at a large State facility set on 189 acre campus. The activities are specific to cleaning ward areas, residences, administrative offices, etc. and requisitioning and maintaining cleaning supplies to handle the needs of the workers assigned to the areas. This position receives general supervision from a higher level Housekeeping Supervisor. This is an 'Emergency Essential' position required to have and maintain a valid Maryland Driver's License and able to drive a State vehicles in accordance to State of Maryland Policies and Procedures for Drivers of State Vehicles.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Experience: Four years of experience performing housekeeping activities in a State facility or other public building.

 OR  

Four years of full-time experience as a housekeeper in a school, hospital, hotel, or other institution, to include one year of supervisory experience.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

1. Employees in this classification may be required to be present for duty on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. Employees required to work on those days will receive compensatory time off on other days. 2. Employees in this classification may be required to live on the grounds of the institution or agency.
