Introduction
This is a MANAGEMENT SERVICES position with the Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services. The incumbent serves at the pleasure of the appointing authority.

Main Purpose of Job
POSITION DUTIES
Summary of general duties:
Managing the units; directing, coordinating, and overseeing implementation of current training programs.
Develop, enhance and implement training to client agencies.
Consult with the Public Safety Agencies to assist in developing programs for leadership training, succession planning, and management training/staff development.
Coordinate training resources, identify sources of potential grant funding and ensure compliance with grants.
Prepare business plans and budgets to support and justified program expenditures.
Perform other related duties.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience: Five years of managerial level experience supervising professional and non-professional employees. Three years which must be coordinating, managing, implementing or evaluating leadership development programs and/or any other training.DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
The following qualifications are preferred, not required:
Advanced level degree in education, criminal justice, psychology or similar field.
Two years of experience in educational program development, curriculum preparation and instruction.
Experience working with or in the public safety environment/criminal justice field.EXAMINATION PROCESS
All persons who meet the minimum qualifications will be approved on the certification list and will be placed on the employment (eligible) list for at least one year.
