Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position is to provide administration, coordination and management, in collaboration with the Regional Director of all Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) funded, community based services, for individuals with developmental disabilities in the region and to ensure effective and efficient operations within the regional office.  Additionally, this position provides for the coordination of emergency placements and functions as the Regional Director in their absence. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Requires a bachelor’s degree and six years of professional experience in health or human services, three years of which must have been professional work related to services for people with developmental disabilities, and three years of which must have been at the managerial and/or supervisory level.  A related master’s degree will substitute for one year of general experience; a doctorate for two years.   A doctorate will substitute for two years of the general experience.  Additional experience will substitute year for year for the college degree.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The desired applicant will have familiarity with the Maryland Medicaid Waiver, CMS Community Rule, Person Centered Planning and the DDA Policy on Reportable Incidents and Investigations.
