Main Purpose of Job

Manage the resources of a Department of Labor, Licensing and  Regulation (DLLR) Unemployment Insurance Claim Center to provide the highest quality of Unemployment Insurance services to customers which will support the economic stability of the labor force, businesses and the community.  Organizes, assigns and manages the work in an unemployment insurance claim center operation to meet goals and standards established by the agency, according to client call flow, position allocation, staff availability and economic conditions. Conduct a variety of claim center administrative functions to ensure effective operations. Promotes the programs of DLLR through contacts with interested groups and the general public.  

POSITION DUTIES

This position reports directly to the UI Director of Benefits.  This position is responsible for all unemployment insurance activities of the College Park Center. The primary functions of the Center are UI claims taking and issue adjudication.  The Center averages a staffing level of 35.  In addition to the management and operation of the unemployment insurance functions, the Director is responsible for all logistical, maintenance and operational aspects of the building.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:  Possession of a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Business Administration/Finance/Marketing.

Experience: Three years of management/supervisory experience in claims processing in a call center environment.  

Additional experience in Unemployment Management/supervisory experience may be substituted on a year for year basis for the required education.

SELECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must meet the selective qualification(s) to be considered. Include clear and specific information on your application regarding your qualifications.

The candidate must be able to speak, comprehend and write Spanish proficiently. 

The candidate must have one year experience in planning, organizing, managing and supervising the  customer claims processing and call center functions.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

All candidates are subject to a background check against files maintained by the Division of Unemployment Insurance (DLLR/DUI) to determine whether any monies are owed to DLLR/DUI as a result of unemployment insurance overpayment/fraud. Any unpaid debt may have an impact on whether or not a candidate is offered employment.
