Main Purpose of Job

This is a high-level managerial position, functioning as Deputy Director within the Planning Administration.  This position is responsible to the Director for day-to-day management of the Administration.  The Administration is responsible for:  Medicaid statistical and policy analysis; programs and policy development; program evaluation; responding to internal and external data and information requests; coordination of Medicaid-related legislative issues; and coordinating the preparation of reports, studies and surveys.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Qualified candidates must posses a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and six years of professional experience, including three years at a management/supervisory level.  Additional professional experience may substitute for the degree on a year for year basis.  A master's will substitute for once year of the general experience. 

This position requires excellent management and supervisory abilities and a broad knowledge of health care policy and programs, preferably including knowledge of the Medicaid program.  Excellent writing, negotiating and communication skills are essential.  Health care research and analysis, budgeting and contract monitoring experience and skills are desirable.
