LOCATION OF POSITION
Main Purpose of Job
POSITION DUTIES
Complete skills observations and assessments as determined by the IEP team. Prepare formal reports and share findings with the IEP team.
Collect and analyze data in order to describe current level of functioning and establish goals/objectives, if needed.
Develop and implement
student therapeutic intervention programs to enhance access, participation,
and/or facilitate progress in their educational environment.
Track student progress to
determine efficacy of services and revise as necessary.
Train and oversee the
implementation of sensory strategies.
Prepare and maintain
necessary records and reports on student services and progress (file
maintenance, online service logs, medical assistance billing paperwork,
quarterly tracking progress reports, IEP development and updates,
assessment/observation reports).
Consultation and training
for staff and/or parents regarding OT strategies, techniques, suggested
accommodations/modifications of the educational environment and/or classroom
materials, plus any recommendations for and proper use of any adaptive
devices/equipment.
Participate in IEP
development and serve as an IEP team member; determine present levels of
performance, and establish goals/objectives that specifically address student
needs.
Collaborate with
specialists and classroom staff in order to promote student achievement.
Provide in-service
training to staff and families, including our early childhood parent support
group
Serve as a member of the
Related Services Team.

Contractual employees who work for an agency covered under the State Employee and Retiree Health and Welfare Benefits Program (the Program), have a current employment contract and work 30 or more hours a week (or on average 130 hours per month) may be eligible for subsidized health benefits coverage for themselves and their dependents. As a contractual employee, you will be responsible for paying 25% of the premiums for your medical and prescription coverage, including any eligible dependents you have enrolled. The State of Maryland will subsidize the remaining 75% of the cost for these benefits. You can also elect to enroll in dental coverage, accidental death and dismemberment insurance, and life insurance, but will be responsible to pay the full premium for these benefits.
