Main Purpose of Job
The main purpose of this position is to provide peer recovery support services to clients with substance use disorders, mental health disorders, and/or co-occurring disorders to begin and maintain a path to recovery. This position assists in developing motivation for recovery, and establishing and maintaining recovering lifestyles. This position works with clients and family members in various substance abuse treatment settings (may include Level I Outpatient, Halfway Houses, Recovery Houses, Residential Services, Medication Assisted Treatment Services, Jail-Based Programs, Hospitals, etc.) to access services determined by assessment, problem identification and individualized treatment planning. Additionally, the incumbent provides outreach to other high-risk populations that may include Drug Court participants, hospitals, homeless, family members of persons with addiction, etc. There are three contractual vacancies, two full-time positions and one part-time position.

BENEFITS
Contractual employees who work for an agency covered under the State Employee and Retiree Health and Welfare Benefits Program (the Program), have a current employment contract and work 30 or more hours a week (or on average 130 hours per month) may be eligible for subsidized health benefits coverage for themselves and their dependents. As a contractual employee, you will be responsible for paying 25% of the premiums for your medical and prescription coverage, including any eligible dependents you have enrolled. The State of Maryland will subsidize the remaining 75% of the cost for these benefits. You can also elect to enroll in dental coverage, accidental death and dismemberment insurance, and life insurance, but will be responsible to pay the full premium for these benefits.
