Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position is to maintain personnel records, process Contractual payroll, process intern and volunteer hires, process staff training and other general clerical duties related to personnel. This position assists the Personnel Associate and the HR Officer/Manager with the functions of Human Resources. Provides excellent customer service to all clients both internal and external. Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: One year of general clerical or administrative support experience.

Note:

1. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in human resources assistance classification or human resources assistance specialty codes in the human resources management field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The preferred candidate for this position will possess the following:

  • Previous experience in an entry level Human Resources role
  • Experience with handling confidential and/or sensitive personnel-related information
  • Experience with financial transactions, handling of financial information, maintaining and/or tracking of expeditures (i.e. P-Card transactions, AP/AR reconciliation, travel, etc.)

BARGAINING UNIT STATUS

The incumbent in this position is a member of a covered bargaining unit and will be required to pay a bi-weekly service fee to the exclusive representative of the bargaining unit.
