Main Purpose of Job

Position provides managerial oversight of inventory control, risk management and mailroom services. This position provides training, oversight control and distribution of all ad hoc, volunteers, senior aides, WEX interns and County staff allocated to Central Services. The position represents the Department as the accountable officer in all matters relating to inventory management, receipt/control/disbursement, high volume duplicating services, courier and mailroom services, risk management and vendor coordinator for ADPICS and RSTARS. This position also acts as the assistant to the manager of Central Services.

POSITION DUTIES

Leads, direct, and supervises subordinate staff in order to ensure day to day efficient delivery of services to 600 internal customers as well as external customers.

Manage unit operations in order to ensure that compliance targets are met, quality services are delivered and resources are appropriately identified and used in accordance with Federal, State, County, Agency and other applicable policies, procedures, and guidelines.

Oversight responsibility for receipt, documentation, control, and disbursement of all equipment and furnishings appropriated by the department for over 600 employees in five sites and three satellite locations.

Documents all workmen's compensation claims against the Department, representation of the Department at hearings involved payment claims, validation of said claims as evidenced by the First Report of Injury, supervisory statements, employee statements and witness statements.

Liaison for the Department to inform and update claim adjusters regarding the status of the claim, ascertain claim numbers, handle all employee issues concerning physical therapy related to claims, to perform all necessary follow up ensure the timely return of all affected employees back to the workplace.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: Three years experience in general services functions, office administration activities or in the receiving, storing, issuance, purchase or requisition of equipment, materials, and parts and supplies.

Notes:

1. Additional experience as stated above may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in logistics specialist
classifications or administrative support specialty codes in the logistics field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Strong preference will be given to applicants that possess the following preferred qualifications.  Include clear and specific information on your application regarding the qualifications.

The ideal candidate will possess:

1. One year of supervisory experience providing  managerial oversight of inventory control, risk management and mailroom services.

2. One year of experience  providing delivery of services to a large number of  customers in multiple locations.

3. One year of experience in providing Oversight responsibility for the receipt, documentation, control and disbursement of all equipment and furnishings appropriated by a agency.

4. One year of experience documenting all workmens compensation claims against the Department, representation of the Department at hearings involving payment claims, validation of said claims as evidenced by the First Report of Injury, supervisory statements, employee statements and witness statements.

BARGAINING UNIT STATUS

The incumbent in this position is a member of a covered bargaining unit and will be required to pay a bi-weekly service fee to the exclusive representative of the bargaining unit.
