Master Seat Builder

 

Job Purpose:   This position will be responsible for building the complete seat assembly for the VS30 program.  Initial responsibilities will be to become proficient on building the seat assembly from pre-production to final assembly.  Ongoing responsibilities will be to train production operators on the assembly process and ensure that they are meeting production criteria (productivity, quality and cost)

 

Essential Functions:   

  • Learn how to assemble the VS30 (Mercedes Sprinter Van) front and rear seats. Initial training will occur in Germany.
  • Coordinate special builds with launch and production teams. (Pre-production prototype builds, engineering samples, test seats, etc.).
  • Help prepare kits for pre-production builds.
  • Assure pre-production seats meet or exceed customer expectations. Ensure trainees progress through the training process including final sign off of trainee.
  • Perform on-the-job training to each production team member.
  • Complete and maintain training documentation and training matrix.
  • After pre-production build is complete, shift assignments will be mutually decided upon.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Successfully pass pre-employment drug test.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years previous manufacturing / assembly or related experience.  Five years prior working experience including 3 years of manufacturing/assembly preferred.
  • Must be able to work a 8-12 hour shifts.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule.
  • Must have the ability to work overtime with little or no notice during start-up phase.
  • Must be able to work weekends as production schedule increases.
  • Ability to work in fast paced environment.
  • Possess a positive attitude and be able to work well within a team oriented environment.
  • Good interpersonal skills and willingness to work effectively as a participative team member.
  • Speak and write English fluently.

 

Work Environment: 

  • Normal amount of sitting and standing, average mobility to move around an office and plant environment, able to conduct normal amount of work on a computer. Required travel will consist of traveling from plant to plant (Isringhausen, Supplier, Customer), including international travel may be required.

Training will be at no charge to trainees.
