Introduction
in cooperation with
Piedmont Technical College
will conduct a Special Training Program for:
Samsung Electronics America, Inc.
The Newberry, SC facility will produce washing machines and other home appliances.

Forklift Driver
The Forklift Driver transports materials, parts, supplies, and products, typically with a forklift or tugger.
Job Responsibilities:

Operate a forklift, tugger, or other vehicle
-
Adhere to quality and customer service standards set forth by the company

Pick, wrap and stage orders to be shipped.

Inspect and perform maintenance of forklifts and other material handling equipment

Removes used item(s) such as pallets and trash bins from production/packaging/warehouse areas.

Move parts, product, or other items physically or with a forklift, tugger, or other vehicle.

Maintain accurate records of quantities, pack size and description

Other responsibilities as assigned by management; job duties may change at any time with or without notice

- High School diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to read and write in English or to communicate in American Sign Language
- The ability to stand up for 8 to 10 hours a day, plus additional overtime as needed
- Available to work any shift, including weekends and holidays
- Flexible work availability and able to work overtime as needed with same-day notice
- The ability to bend, stoop, grip, reach and lift up to 40 lbs. on a repetitive basis
- The ability to pass a drug test and background check
- Ability to read and understand manufacturing instructions
- Minimum 3 years of work experience driving a forklift
- Fork lift certification or license
Preferred/Desired:
- Need to be able to work in a fast paced, high-speed environment and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement environment
- Experience in manufacturing environment is a plus
- Proficient with the use of shop equipment including mills, lathes, grinders and welders
- The ability to work with components that are in constant motion along an assembly line without adverse effects
- The ability to work on a team of co-workers in close proximity to each other
- The ability to make timely decisions and provide feedback to each other Have a strong desire for personal and professional development
- Valid drivers’ license
Starting wage of $15.50. Samsung offers a comprehensive benefits package.
