Plans, organizes, coordinates, and supervises custodial and grounds maintenance and programming activities for a park or group of parks and special facilities.
Assigns, schedules, trains, supervises, and review the work of subordinates; completes performance evaluations; administers discipline when required; recommends hiring, promotions, and transfers; responds to grievances; interprets rules, regulation, policies and procedures for staff; plans and conducts staff meetings.
Ensures compliance with applicable safety and maintenance practices and programming practices and standards.
Coordinates the provision of resources including supplies, tools and equipment.
Solicits active interest, participation and the support of neighborhood and community groups.
Creates and promotes a team atmosphere within the department.
Collect, track, and deposit fees, manage attendance and financial records. Performs related work as required.
Considerable knowledge of and the ability to implement: appropriate practices, methods, and techniques of parks and recreation maintenance and programming.
Knowledge of and the ability to maintain: proper records.
Ability to: maintain proper records, prepare and interpret written reports and impart them effectively; coordinate with public and private groups to develop partnerships; plan, assign, coordinate, supervise, and review the work of subordinate personnel: establish and maintain effective working relationships with subordinate personnel, peers, representatives of other city departments, and the public.
Strong verbal and written communications skills.
Possession of: a valid Florida driver’s license.
First Aid, CPR certification and Certified Parks and Recreation Professional status desired.
