Location at the OK School for the Deaf
Position is open until filled

The Oklahoma Department of Rehabilitation Services is accepting applications for this position.  The school provides a full-range of educational and related services for Oklahoma youth that are deaf or hearing impaired from the time of identification through 21 years of age.

Essential Functions:
This position is responsible for teaching basic Home Economics to secondary students.  Duties include devising and using special instructional materials or teaching aids for vocational programs and presenting daily instruction/learning activities which focus on the students’ individualized techniques according the their IEP’s and teach additional classes as assigned.

Preferred Skills, Education and Experience: 
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Education of the Deaf, State of Oklahoma Teacher’s Certificate or qualifications to meet certification. Prefer Masters Degree.   An expressive and receptive sign language skill with fluency in American Sign Language is preferred.

Annual salary is commensurate with education and years of experience; Bachelor’s degree: $33,180.00 to $44,441.00, Master’s degree:  $34,440.00 to $46,147.00.  Employees are provided paid health, dental, life and retirement benefits as well as an option to participate in the State’s tax-deferred annuity program.  This will be a 180-day per year, contracted position.
